Wesburn Golf and Country Club has a distinguished history as one of the oldest golf courses in the region, records date back to 1910 when this beautiful facility first opened. The golf course and traditions of this classic club truly began to take shape in 1926 when Wesson Seyburn (husband of Winifred Dodge) bought the property and crafted a 9-hole layout within a planned housing community. Then the Great Depression killed the housing plan, but as the boys were coming home from WWII the course was expanded into an 18 hole operation. In 1959 Walter Walters purchased the property and then in 1998 Walt’s daughter Shelley assumed ownership.
Through the years and different owners one thing has remained constant — a commitment and passion for the classic game of golf. Players enjoy a warm and inviting clubhouse that is filled with tradition. Combine this with the extensive improvements over the years and it is easy to understand why Wesburn continues to be one of the most popular courses in the area.
The layout covers over 190 acres and plays 6,300 yards for a par 72. There are multiple sets of tees which help make every player feel both challenged and competitive. The course is a forgiving layout and features nature at its best, with mature woods filled with wildlife in a peaceful setting. Minutes away, just off I-75, Wesburn Golf and Country Club is a must-play course for anyone who really appreciates the tradition of the game.
